How it gets done

I told someone I would put up my daily routine but I really can’t because it changes all the time!

I keep my metabolism up by eating every 2-3 hours. For breakfast it can vary. I love light vanilla yogurt with frozen fruit or granola. Oatmeal is another favorite. Sometimes eggs with asparagus mixed in. For lunch and dinner, it’s always pretty different. One day I may go out and eat with a friend at a sandwich place, Chipotle, a mexican restaurant, Chinese, wherever. But wherever I go, I still keep it healthy. Look for the healthy options. It helps now that a lot of places have the calorie listings with the menu. If I stay in, I like to have salads made of spinach, blueberries, oranges, and apples with poppyseed dressing. Or I will have whatever my parents have and justify with a suitable serving. The other night they had spaghetti, I had a small serving of it to satisfy myself.

As far as snacks go, I eat bananas, apples, clementines, raisins, pretzels, string cheese, frozen fruits (my favorite!), walnuts, and almonds.

As far as exercising goes, I run 3-5 times a week and do sit ups, crunches, bicycle crunches, and leg lifts six times a week. I work at a grocery store where I am on my feet the whole time walking and running around. My coworker and I have calculated that we burn 1000+ calories every time we work. I also have a hula hoop that I sometimes use and do squats at the same time. Running and the crunches are my main exercises though.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this, is to not deprive yourself of the foods you enjoy eating. I’ll treat myself to a sugary treat or a carb filled meal every now and then and won’t feel bad about it. Moderation is key. If you deprive yourself all the time, you’ll only feel miserable then end up binging. I started out eating only about 700 calories a day and then getting really mad at myself because I felt it was too high. Sure, I lost weight but with the lifestyle I live, it was not healthy at all. I run around all the time at work and I need my energy. So I learned how to eat healthy and still lose weight. It’s made me a happier dieter because of it :)
